New Hires: TheMuniCenter Adds Two to New York Office.

TheMuniCenter earlier this week announced it hired Jannell Martin and Louis Magliarditi as traders in its New York office.

Martin previously worked at Sterne, Agee & Leach where she managed the Atlanta trading desk for the firm and traded Southeast credits, Ed Holleran, director of trading at TheMuniCenter, said in a prepared statement. She is well known in the industry for her many years as a senior trader at Morgan Stanley's Atlanta office, he said, and brings with her a wealth of experience and relationships in the municipal securities industry that compliment TheMuniCenter's activities in South and Southeast credits. Martin started at the firm on Monday.

Magliarditi joined TheMuniCenter from RBC Dain Rauscher Inc., where he was a financial consultant advising high-net-worth clients. His in-depth knowledge of municipal securities as well as his proficiency with a wide range of software applications provides a good fit with TheMuniCenter's substantial trade activity in retail blocks, Holleran said. He joined the firm on Aug. 16 as an associate.

"They each bring to the firm skill sets that compliment and support TheMuniCenter's rapid growth in Internet-based electronic trading of municipals, corporates, agencies and CDs," Holleran said. Both traders report directly to Holleran.

TheMuniCenter was established in May 2000. It is a privately held firm backed by Chapdelaine & Co., Financial Security Assurance, Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch & Co., Morgan Stanley, and Citigroup Global Markets Inc. TheMuniCenter is a Web-based electronic trading platform for municipal and corporate securities.
