Fed: Nine win 2006 ratings by a faction

Nine boss EDDIE MCGUIRE says the network's still won the TV ratings year .. despite
predictions of doom and gloom by its opponents.

Mr MCGUIRE says the message is if this was the opposition's best year and Nine's worst
.. then Nine still won.

In a fierce ratings tug-of-war .. Nine's won 27 of the 40 official ratings weeks ..

for its sixth consecutive victory.

Nine had 28.5 per cent of total viewers for the all important 6pm to midnight period
.. excluding Easter and the Commonwealth Games.

Seven finished the year with 28.1 per cent .. Ten on 22.5 per cent .. the ABC on 15.5
per cent .. and SBS on 5.4 per cent.
